Bad Weather Bummer: County Fair Attendance Declined in 2013

Poor weather conditions contributed to the decline in attendance at the 2013 Waukesha County Fair.

Attendance was down at the Waukesha County Fair last week compared to other years because of hot weather conditions followed by rain Sunday canceling the main stage concert.

A total of 88,526 people attended the fair between July 17 and Sunday. That’s a large decrease from the 125,261 people who attended the fair in 2012.

“We can control many aspects of our fair, but Mother Nature is one we cannot,” said Shari Black, executive director, in a news release from the fair. “We are grateful for every person that came out and supported us this year. We want to thank our board members, sponsors and countless volunteers for all of their hard work that went into planning this year’s Fair.”
