Ho HO Ho: Holiday Thoughts and Hints

Three Christmas trees, two sets of lights and only one gift! Just six days till the grandchildren arrive from Texas...Grandma and the jolly old elf better get a move on Christmas shopping instead of decorating the house. But, before I brave mall world with my list so long, here’s a decorating idea that’s simple, looks really cute and makes the jolly old elf happy since it’s really inexpensive!   

Decorate your poinsettias or other houseplants with some of that white fluffy snow batting material and ornaments. It really dresses them up and brings Christmas into each room of the house. Place the material around the base of the plant and then put either small Christmas ornaments or the little wooden toys ones on top of the material. In the picture you can see that I used small wooden toy type ornaments. Remember though, you’ll need to water the plants from the bottom, so be sure to place a waterproof saucer underneath them.
