HO HO HO and MERRY MERRY: Decoration Time

Oh by gosh, by golly, it’s time to decorate the yard so jolly. Actually, I wanted to put up the second tree but Grandpa went back out to the garage when I mentioned that. So instead I went to Plan B: decorating the front porch and putting up outside lights. And, if I say so myself, the front porch is really charming with an old-fashioned sled and a wooden Santa. How cute is that, Martha?

Then, luring Grandpa out of the garage with the promise of green bean casserole and a turkey leg (Thanksgiving leftovers), I persuaded him to put lights on the front yard evergreens when he finished his dinner. Don’t worry, no Grandpa elves were injured in this task – we live in a one-story ranch house. With a great Ho, Ho, Ho, I plugged in the lights and ran out to the sidewalk to admire the view.

Oh, oh, not so jolly. Grandpa had apparently, in spring, trimmed one set of bushes a foot shorter than on the other side. Kind of an interesting look though…it makes the house appear to be climbing uphill. Did I mention that he now owes me big time and will be helping set up - TA DA- the second tree very soon? Hmm, maybe we could go to a tree farm and cut our own?
