Who's Going to State in Boys Track?

South had the best team performance, while Dylan Chmura of West took home two first-place awards at Thursday's sectional at Waukesha North.

Waukesha South sends two relay teams and five individuals to the WIAA state boys track and field meet, after a strong showing at Thursday’s Waukesha North Sectional.

Michael Cournia won the high jump and was second in the triple jump. Isaiah Pitchford was sectional champion in the 400 and third in the 200.

Dylan Chmura of Waukesha West won both the discus and shot put, while Dyson Chmura qualified with a third-place finish in the 100.

WAUKESHA SOUTH

  • 4 x 800 relay, second
  • 4 x 400 relay, third
  • Michael Cournia, second, triple jump; first, high jump
  • Elijah Pitchford, third, triple jump
  • Isaiah Pitchford, third, 200 meters; first, 400 meters
  • DQ Smith, second, 400 meters
  • Brad Woodford, third, 1,600 meters

WAUKESHA NORTH

  • Tyler Wilch, third, pole vault

WAUKESHA WEST

  • Dylan Chmura, first, discus; first, shot put
  • Dyson Chmura, third, 100 meters

Other individuals may also qualify based on time and the entire field will be released before the state meet, May 31-June 1 in La Crosse.
