Lizzy Connors, whose 26-point game against Germantown HIgh School helped Waukesha West win the regional championship, will be a freshman basketball player at Michigan college.

Lizzy Connors, a Waukesha West High School senior, will play basketball for University of Detroit Mercy where she will be a freshman for the 2013-14 school year, according to a news release from the college.

“Lizzy is a long, left-handed, athletic perimeter player who will thrive in our up tempo style of play,” said head coach Autumn Rademacher. “She is extremely fast in the open floor, makes great decisions, and can shoot from anywhere.”

Connors helped lead Waukesha West to its best season in school history with 19 wins and a WIAA regional championship. Connors scored 26 points in the regional championship over Germantown, according to the news release.
