NFL Football Player J.J. Watt To Host 3rd Annual Walk/Run

Get out and walk or run with NFL player and Pewaukee native J.J. Watt in his 3rd annual walk/run, have a good time and help the J.J. Watt Foundation.

Lace up those tennis shoes, J.J. Watt, who plays for the Houston Texans, is hosting the 3rd annual J.J. Watt Foundation 5k Run/Walk on June 22.

Participants can now register for the walk/run, which be held at the Waukesha County Technical College, 800 Main St., in Pewaukee.

Organizers have capped the number of participants at 500. However, as participants meet various fundraising levels, they have the opportunity to earn prizes, including an autographed photo, football or VIP photo opportunity. A silent auction will also be held, which includes autographed memorabilia.

“We are thrilled to continue this event in my hometown and hope to provide the motivation and means to children to turn those big dreams and hard work into something incredible,” Watt said.

Watt grew up in Pewaukee and this year he earned the NFL defensive player of the year award.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Watt's Foundation, which provides after-school opportunities for children in the community to get involved in sports. Officials will time the 5K run.

The foundation is currently accepting grant applications for school or afterschool programs for middle school aged kids (6th – 8th grade). For more information visit www.jjwfoundation.org/funding-requests/
