The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha has hired Courtney Trice as its new assistant dean for student affairs.

Trice, who has been employed by UW-Waukesha since September 2005, had served in the position in an interim role since the retirement of Barbara Kauth in August 2012. She formerly served as the coordinator of advising and orientation at UW-Waukesha. In that role, she worked with the student development team to successfully revamp the college’s registration sessions and new student orientation programming, and implemented an advisor of the year award for UW-Waukesha’s faculty advising program.

Trice earned her bachelor’s in educational policy and community studies at UWM and went on to earn her master of education, emphasis college student personnel, at Marquette University. She lives in her native Milwaukee with her husband and two sons, ages 7 and 9.

Over the past year, Trice said she has had an opportunity to review policies and practices to improve enrollment communication for current, past and prospective students. She is looking forward to the upcoming school year.

“This coming year continues to bring new faces and changes in enrollment services,” she said. “We will be welcoming a new financial aid and veterans coordinator in early fall. We will also be replacing a front desk staff person. It’s an exciting time for our office; fall always brings in new students – but I am especially excited about the additional opportunities new staff brings as well.”

In addition, UW-Waukesha will be integrating its marketing and communications office into enrollment services, Trice said.
“This will allow us more opportunities to streamline and make operations more efficient, especially in how we communicate with internal and external customers,” she said.

“UW-Waukesha is a great place,” Trice added. “I’ve loved my time here and look forward to many more years of helping us to achieve our mission.”
