Swimtastic Hosting Fundraiser to Help Save Life of Founder's Brother

Swimtastic Swim School of Waukesha is hosting a Family Fun Day and Casino night to help raise funds to help save a man who is getting a lung transplant.

Swimtastic Swim School of Waukesha is working towards helping save the life of one of the founder's brothers, who has cystic fibrosis and is scheduled to get a lung transplant.

Swimtastic founders Barrett and Susan Wainscott are working with the nonprofit HelpHOPELive to fundraise for out-of-pocket medical expenses related to Susan Wainscott's brother.

Bill Jamison's health has deteriorated in the last few years and he relies on full-time oxygen to survive.

“Bill’s doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami told us that his only option now is a lifesaving double lung transplant,” said Susan Wainscott in a release. “He is now actively listed for this procedure, but he is in need of funds to help offset many critical but uncovered expenses.”

Proceeds from the upcoming events at Swimtastic will benefit the HelpHOPELive Southeast Lung Transplant Fund in honor of Jamison and will help pay for insurance co-pays and deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center, and temporary relocation for approximately six months or more following the surgery. Jamison will also face a lifetime of costly anti-rejection medications.
