Strong Showing From Waukesha Family YMCA Gymnasts at Nationals

Graduating senior Lauren Wysocki receives $1,000 scholarship.

The Waukesha YMCA Wonders Gymnastics Team has returned from Toledo, Ohio, after a great showing at the 2011 Y of the USA Gymnastics Championships.

The following are just a few of the highlights from the National Competition:

  • Three Waukesha Wonders Gymnasts are now 2011 National All-Around Champions for their levels: Sarah Pascavis, Level 4 – 37.65 AA; Lizzie Smith, Level PO Silver – 36.475 AA; Raquel Bruening, Level 8 Masters – 32.325 AA
  • Nine Waukesha Wonders Gymnasts placed in the National Competition: Krista Pascavis, Level 3 – ninth place medal on bars; Brooke Lytle, Level 5 – Season High Score of 32.5 AA; Hunter Kiehl, Level 6 – sixth place medal for AA; Rachel Wall, Level 6 – eighth place medal on vault; Megan Stamn, Level 6 – 10th place on vault; Nicki Stamn, Level PO Silver – fifth place medal for AA; Sophie Peters, – Score of 32.2 AA; Erika Edlund, – 10th place medal on beam; Lauren Wysocki, sixth place medal on bars
  • Lauren Wysocki, a graduating senior, was awarded one of two $1,000 scholarships from Y of the USA in recognition of her devotion to the YMCA and the Waukesha Wonders Gymnastics Program. Wysocki has been involved in the Y Gymnastics Program for 11 years.
