Twitter Request Brings J.J. Watt new Friend

The NFL rookie and son of Waukesha firefighter visits paralyzed child.

Pewaukee High School and Wisconsin Badger standout J.J. Watt has been described by those who know his family well

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to them that Watt, the son of Waukesha Fire Department Lt. John Watt, recently responded to a Twitter request to retweet a story about a tragic accident that paralyzed a 9-year-old boy while killing the boy’s parents by saying that he wanted to visit the boy in the Houston hospital.

That’s what the Jewish Herald-Voice in Houston is reporting where Watt recently moved to begin his rookie season with the Houston Texans. The two talked about places for Watt to visit in Houston and Justin Bieber (story says Watt is a fan).

“You can text me all you want,” the story quotes Watt telling the boy. “I’m bored down here – you’re my first friend outside the team. Feel free to contact me once a day if you want. You can email me, text me, anything, anytime, I don’t have a lot going on.”
