Waukesha Ride of Silence

Every year, on the third Wednesday in May, at 7 p.m. here and around the world, cyclists take to the roads in a silent protest.

The Waukesha Ride of Silence is a slow, silent ride.  Participants should not ride faster than 12 mph, and the route will be less than 5 miles long over City streets in Waukesha.

The ride hopes to raise cycling awareness during National Bike Month to motorists, police, traffic engineers, insurance companies, and city officials.  The ride is also a chance to mourn those who have already been killed.

Please arrive before 7 p.m., in time for a short ceremony to remember loved ones who have died while riding on public roadways.

Wear a helmet and bring lights for the ride home.
