Water Skiing for People with Disabilities Saturday

Have you ever wanted to learn to water ski but never had the chance because of a physical disability? Come and watch our proud new skiers learn to ski using an Adaptive Sit Ski with the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club’s expert water skiers in downtown Pewaukee. Water skiing has been adapted so that people with disabilities can participate and even compete. Donated in part by Tinus Marine and funds from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, the Adaptive Sit Ski can be used by people with disabilities of all ages.  The demonstration will allow the public to see the Adaptive Sit Ski in action on Pewaukee Lake.  The first Saturday in August the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club partners with ACAP (Adaptive Community Approach Program) of Waukesha to give people with disabilities a chance to water ski on the special adaptive ski, sometimes for the first time!  The event hosted in part by the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club is called Waterfront Festival.  For more information or to register, call ACAP at 262-521-1120.  Some fees apply.

Following the Adaptive Sit Ski demonstration this Saturday, check out the other special events the Ski Club has coordinated such as the Clean Water Education Tent featuring over 12 organizations to help educate the public on water quality issues.  The Pewaukee Kiwanis Beach Party is hosting live music, concessions and beer until 11pm.  Free shuttle bus from WCTC 11am-11:30pm.  Don't miss this great event on Saturday!
