Favorite Deal of This Week Ending Tomorrow 1/14

Favorite coupon deal of the week with explanation on how to do the deal.

My favorite deal for this week was a Chex Mix deal at Walgreens.  It ends Saturday, Jan. 14

Chex Mix (5.5-8.75 oz.), Bugles (6-7.5 oz.) or Gardettos (5.5 oz.) (unadvertised deal) 4 for $6

Buy 4 and...
Use $1 off 4 from the Walgreens January coupon booklet available in the store
Use 2  $0.60 off One (1) Chex Mix or Chex 100 Calorie Snacks (if you can print online printable coupons.)
Use 1 $.50 off 2 from 12/11 SmartSource newspaper insert or 1/8/12 General Mills newspaper insert or
Use 2 $.50 off 1 chocolate chex mix from 12/11 Smartsource newspaper insert
When you buy 4, you will receive at checkout a $2 off your next order register reward coupon.
Final Price:  4 for $6 - $1 Walgreens coupon - 2 $.60 off 1 coupons - $.50 off 2 coupon = $3.30 and then receive $2 off your next order coupon

Now the problem with Walgreens, is there is a lot of rules you need to learn when it comes to using Register Rewards.  They last for 2 weeks from the date of issue and then they expire.  But, they are counted like a manufacturer coupon, so you have to always be careful to make sure you have more items than you have manufacturer coupons.

For example, today, I purchased as my first order the 4 chex mix and a container of floss, and I used coupons on all of them.  I paid $4.94 for these items and received $2 in register rewards from the chex and $2 in register rewards from the floss.  Then I purchased 3 7Up/A&W/Dr. Pepper 2 liters and 2 tubes of Colgate total.  I used 2 coupons on the Colgate total and did not use any coupons on the 7UP, because of this I could use my 2 registar rewards from the previous transaction.  But if I had used a coupon say a $1 off 3 on the 2 liters, I would have needed 2 more items so that I could use the 2 $2 Register rewards.  So in the end I paid $8.40 out of pocket (OOP) and received $4 back in register rewards to use on a later transaction from the Colgate.

Now if this doesn't make sense, please let me know.  Couponers have their own lingo that can be very hard to follow and I would like to try and make it more understandable.  Let me know if you have any questions.
