World Tai Chi and QiGong Day: April 26th!

Since 1999, communities worldwide have set aside the last Saturday in April to not only promote the disciplines of Tai Chi Chuan and QiGong, but also cultivate a unified mindset rooted in balance and positive thought. The stated goals are:

  • Educate the world about emerging medical research related to the benefits of Tai Chi and QiGong;
  • Share the increasing role of Tai Chi and QiGong in business, healthcare, education, penal institutions and drug rehabilitation;
  • Provide a global vision of cooperation for health and healing, as well as an appreciation for cultural wisdom throughout the world;
  • Show appreciation to the Chinese for developing Tai Chi and QiGong, and share these healing practices with the rest of the world.

This year will be the first time ShaoLin Center will actively take part in World Tai Chi and QiGong Day activities! On Saturday, April 26th from 10 to 11:30 am, ShaoLin Center will host a free QiGong session. Building on the global objectives, ShaoLin Center wants to:

  • Provide an opportunity for individuals to experience QiGong;
  • Create a collective of positive energy that can be shared with one another, our community, and the Universe;
  • Unify our ShaoLin family through health and healing;
  • Introduce friends, family members and individuals from the community to ShaoLin Center, and the healing benefits of QiGong.

The free event on Saturday the 26th is open to the public; all are welcome to visit the school at 400 Travis Lane in Waukesha and enjoy a morning of relaxation and meditation. For more information about QiGong, visit ShaoLin Center's website and read SiFu Kleppe's latest blog: http://www.shaolincenter.org/#!Learning-to-Let-Go/c23j2/41318E77-C855-4D5B-9E03-780209DA0A1B, or visit ShaoLin Center's Youtube channel and watch a short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVvcGmWVW38.
