Waukesha West Softball Captain Signs With Indiana Tech

Amanda Kendziora will play at catcher and in the outfield while she also studies recreational therapy.

A Waukesha West High School softball star will play the sport next year at Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Amanda Kendziora, senior captain of the West softball team, signed her letter of intent last Wednesday at Waukesha West with family and friends. While at Indiana Tech, Kendziora will play both catcher and outfield.

Kendziora will study recreational therapy along with pursuing a minor in coaching.

Kendziora, the starting catcher for Waukesha West Wolverines, received honorable mention all-conference honors last season while leading West in all offensive categories including the school's Golden Slugger Award while also throwing out 50 percent of the base stealers she faced.

Kendziora also catches on her summer select travel team the 18-U Waukesha Hurricanes, while also assistant coaching the 12-U Hurricanes. Kendziora traveled this past summer on a goodwill tour for US Athletes International to Aruba and played softball with college players while putting on youth softball clinics, as well as playing games on the island. Kendziora was the leading hitter while on the tour for batting average and slugging percentage.
