The characters of Disney's Beauty and the Beast will be at the Waukesha Public Library at 1 p.m. Saturday.

In connection with their upcoming production at the West End Players are offering the opportunity for children to meet and greet their favorite characters from the Disney film including Belle, the Beast, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Cogsworth the Clock. The event is part of the library's Fantastic Flicks Program and will include a 2 p.m. screening of the Disney film in the Children's Performance Area.

With more than 150 students involved, and a budget of more than $20,000, this production is the largest ever at Waukesha West High School.

Claire Haupt, a senior at West, is the stage manager of the show, as well as a member of the ensemble.

"Because of the popularity of this show with children, we thought the public library might be a great partner for us," Haupt said. "The costumes are really impressive, and it'll be fun to put them on and interact with kids in the community."
