Waukesha West Ranked No. 491 in Newsweek's Top High School Report

Neighboring community also placed on list of top 500 high schools in the nation.

Waukesha West High School just squeaked into to be featured by Newsweek as being one of the top 500 high schools in the nation. Waukesha West was ranked 491 in its recently released report.

Newsweek ranks the high schools on a combination of graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP tests taken per graduate, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP test scores and AP courses offered.

A total of 12 schools were featured on the list, including neighboring Brookfield Central, Pewaukee, New Berlin West and New Berlin Eisenhower high schools.

The top school in the nation was School of Science and Engineering Magnet in Dallas, where the school’s graduation and college bound rate is 100 percent, according to the Newsweek report.

Waukesha West’s graduation rate is 94 percent with 89 percent of its students being college bound, the report states.
