Waukesha Student Wins Initiative Scholarship

Mikayla Holzem to receive $1,000 from U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl.

A Waukesha high school student is receiving the 2011 Herb Kohl Foundation initiative scholarship.

Mikayla Holzem is a student at Waukesha North High School. U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl will award the scholarships on April 3 at Pius XI High School, 135 N. 76th St., Milwaukee.

β€œInitiative scholarship recipients, chosen by their schools, have demonstrated exceptional initiative in the classroom and have shown strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond, but have not yet received other academic-based scholarships,” a news release states.
