Waukesha South High School has taken on a mission for each of its sports teams to participate in a community service project during the 2012-13 season.  The winter sport teams have been involved in the following community service projects:

  • The boys’ basketball teams volunteered at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in February.  The group did some cleaning and also oiled down the wood work in the church.
  • The girls’ basketball team was involved in the “Hoops for a Cure” basketball game against Mukwonago on Feb. 14 at Waukesha South.   The team has been doing various fundraisers for breast cancer.  They will be donating more than $4,000 to the cause.
  • The boys’ swim team will be involved in the Special Olympics District Swim Meet in Oconomowoc on April 20. Our swimmers will help run the meet by being timers, and helping present awards to the swimmers.
  • The wrestling team volunteered at the Special Needs Bowling Social in February at Sunset Bowl. Wrestlers will provide mentoring, guidance, and socialization for students with physical challenges and autism.
