Waukesha College Student Awarded Scholarship

Scholarship named after Waukesha West High School and UW-Eau Claire graduate.

A Waukesha college student who is starting classes at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is receiving a scholarship named after a Waukesha man who died in August 2004.

Freshman Megan Kaiser was awarded the Brian Stricklin Memorial Scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year, according to a news release from UW-Eau Claire.

The scholarship, designated for an outstanding student from Waukesha County entering UW-Eau Claire, was established with memorial and family gifts received by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation in memory of Brian Stricklin, a UW-Eau Claire alumnus who died suddenly at his home in Waukesha in August 2004.

Stricklin was an honors student at and a business major who graduated with honors from UW-Eau Claire in May 2004. He was an avid gamer and was an active member and officer of the UW-Eau Claire Gamers Guild. Preference for the scholarship in his name is given to applicants who plan to major in business and/or have an interest in gaming, environmental protection or study abroad opportunities.
