UW-Waukesha Presents Annual Summer Children’s Theatre

Waukesha children cast in play.

Jeff Smerz, West Allis, has selected a cast of six students and community members for the upcoming children’s stage production, Short Tree and the Bird That Could Not Sing, a play for children of all ages.

Appearing in the ensemble production are:

  • Abby Kinsey, Waukesha as Bird
  • Jacalyn Nolan, Oconomowoc as Tree
  • Danielle Johnson, Milwaukee as Ensemble
  • Caitlin Thiele, Oconomowoc as Ensemble
  • Brenna Thiele, Oconomowoc as Ensemble
  • Pierre Westbrook, Waukesha as Ensemble

A tree which resents its roots and a bird with the worst singing voice in the history of avians are the delightful characters in this quirky fable by Dennis Foon about two unlikely forces of nature: a spunky, unflappable bird and a stunted, loveable tree.
