UPDATED: Boy, 15, Arrested for Streaking at West Football Game

Waukesha West High School football team loses to Arrowhead High School.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 12:15 p.m. Friday with comments from Waukesha West Principal David Towers.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested after he streaked across a football field in front of a large group of young girl poms dancers Thursday night at the Waukesha West High School football game.

Some people thought the prank was funny while others in the crowd were disgusted that it occurred in front of the young girls.

The 15-year-old streaker attends Waukesha West High School. He now faces three municipal citations that are being referred to the city attorney's office. The teen also faces school and parental consequences, according to Waukesha Police Sgt. Jerry Habanek.

The 16-year-old boy who drove the getaway vehicle faces one municipal citation, in addition to school and parental consequences, according to Habanek. The driver did not attend Waukesha West but is part of the School District of Waukesha.

“The school and the police department are partnering to give the students their consequences in the hopes that it will deter in the future this type of behavior,” Habanek said.

Principal David Towers described the incident as being “one of the more disappointing moments” in his career as an educator. Staff at Waukesha West are addressing the incident. However, Towers is unable to state the specifics of discipline-related cases involving students.

“We are not going to tolerate this type of behavior,” Towers said. “We will deal with this appropriately and very seriously.”

It's not the first time the School District of Waukesha's had a streaker at a football game. A naked student ran across the field last year at a Waukesha North High School football game.

On Friday night — the day after Waukesha's incident, two males streaked across Brookfield Central's football field during its Homecoming game against the Wauwatosa Red Raiders. Those two wore underwear and masks. One got away; one did not and was cited for municipal disorderly conduct.

  • "All caught on my phone during my daughter's dance performance. A G-rated show quickly turned MA."
  • "Bad choice on his part!"
  • "Yes, in today's hugely PC society, he could probably end up being charged with a felony for what he did. In the 50's, (a la Porky's...) he'd probably be laughed off the field and end up being more afraid of facing his dad than the cops if he got caught...
  • "It was at halftime right in front of 160 7-10 year olds who were performing a routine they learned in a poms clinic this week. The girls were all talking about it after the performance. The police chased him but he jumped the fence.
In this day in age...? This guy saw there was a field filled with kids-if it was that important to cross that off a bucket list wait til a game when there's 160+ less vulnerable eyes watching the scene. Disgusting."
