School Board Names New Principal at Meadowbrook Elementary School

Jessica Wagner, who has been running the school as interim principal since last fall, impresses the board enough to get the position.

Jessica Wagner, who has been interim principal at Meadowbrook Elementary School since Don Charpentier retired last fall, can remove the word "interim" from her title.

That's because the School Board on Wednesday approved giving Wagner the job outright.

School Board member William Baumgart said he was impressed with the positive feedback Wagner has garnered from staff and parents at Meadowbrook. He also noted that it was important to establish continuity at the school.

Wagner has been with the district since 2005. Previously, she was assistant principal at and at .

In other staffing changes, the board approved one retirement and six resignations. One of the resignations was for Chvala Brown, assistant principal at , and was effective last month. The others will take effect at the end of the school year.
