Police Conduct High-Risk Traffic Stop Near Waukesha South High School

Individuals detained in connection to an investigation that does not involve the high school.

Waukesha police officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop this morning near Waukesha South High School Friday morning as police are conducting an investigation, said Capt. Dennis Angle.

Police were detaining individuals in connection to the investigation, Angle said.

Authorities are not releasing more information about the investigation as it is continuing. However, the investigation has nothing to do with South High School, Angle said.

A high-risk traffic stop is used when there is a potentially dangerous situation. Officers order the people in the car to come out of the vehicle instead of police approaching the vehicle.

A note from the school to parents states school administrators directed students into the school because police officers were blocking Roberta Avenue for 10 minutes.

"Our students were not in danger at anytime during this incident," the e-mail from the school states.
