Scholarships will serve underrepresented students at four-year university.

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation recently donated $18,000 to Carroll University for scholarships for underrepresented students, according to a news release from the university.

The award to Carroll is part of more than $1.1 million in grants by the foundation to support literacy and increase access to higher education throughout Wisconsin.

“Supporting programs that improve literacy and make the dream of college a financial reality are critical long-term investments in Wisconsin’s future,” said Kimberley Goode, Northwestern Mutual Foundation president, in the release. “This grant will directly impact our community’s ability to unlock the potential of Wisconsin’s next generation and advance their development.”
