Winter Tree Identification (UW-Waukesha Continuing Education)

Winter Tree Identification

Instructor, Marlin Johnson, emeritus professor

Are you a nature lover? You’ll love our popular hands approach to identifying native Wisconsin trees by seeing, touching, smelling and even tasting them in their winter condition. Head out in the field as we tramp through the snows of February discussing trees’ role in nature, their habitat, their place in ecological succession and how they benefit wildlife. Discover the importance of individual tree species to Native Americans and how we can make trees a significant part of our lives through natural landscaping using their products and appreciating their beauty. Conservationist Marlin Johnson will lead this class at the beautiful and idyllic UW-Waukesha Field Station, W349 S1480 S. Waterville Road. (A map will be sent with registration confirmation.)
