Kevin Hermening, Former Iran Hostage, to Speak at UW-Waukesha
Kevin Hermening was the youngest of the group of Americans held hostage for 444 days at the U.S. Embassy in Iran in 1979-1981. Kevin will talk about his captivity and the resultant impact it had on the political views of many regarding Iran, in a presentation sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha campus Veterans' Association. During those 444 days, Kevin experienced a number of mock executions and periods of solitary confinement. He will bring to this talk an informed understanding of the challenges faced by the United States in its dealings with Iran and the Middle East as a whole. The presentation is free and open to all and there is free parking in campus lots during this event.
