Cookies and Dumplings to Help Earthquake, Tsunami Victims in Japan

Waukesha West High School students hold bake sale to help those affected in devastating natural disaster.

Three Waukesha West High School clubs worked Wednesday for a bake sale in the school's cafeteria to collect donations for victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The bake sale continues today.

The Chinese Language and Culture Club, the Anime Club and the Philosophy Club teamed together to bring the treats to the school. The proceeds from the bake sale will be donated to the American Red Cross.

"Even if it is a complete stranger, I know that if I was in their position, I would be extremely grateful," said 16-year-old Matt Thaviphon, a sophomore at the school.

"They really need it right now obviously," she said about the fundraiser. "Every penny helps."
