Closing of White Rock Elementary in the Planning Stage

Superintendent informs Waukesha School Board of upcoming proposal to close White Rock after next school year.

In brief comments at last night’s School Board meeting, Waukesha School District Superintendent Todd Gray informed the School Board that district administrators will be recommending the closing of White Rock Elementary after next school year.

Gray said that after two years of study in looking at different types of educational programs for the district’s ESL/ bilingual program, administrators will soon be ready to make a recommendation to not use White Rock as a typical kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school.

In laying out a partial timeline, Gray said that the administration would be asking for a board resolution no later than the July meeting, which would allow enough time to get plans in place and begin information in the public about the upcoming changes.
