Carroll Fraternity Raises $2K for The Women's Center

Dinner was held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Delta Rho Upsilon fraternity at raised a total of $2,064 in donations for The Women's Center of Waukesha. The dinner event was part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and was held on Oct. 29, 2011, on Carroll's campus.

The dinner had 84 attendees: 52 students, two staff members, and 30 community members and alumni. Mary Hennis, director of counseling at The Women's Center, spoke at the dinner about the services offered at The Women's Center. The silent auction raised more than $600. Donations for the silent auction came from local businesses and the Delta Rho Upsilon Alumni Association.

Delta Rho Upsilon plans to make this an annual event. The fraternity has been at Carroll University since 1929 and its philanthropy is geared toward raising money for and serving The Women's Center.
