3 Waukesha School District Students Named All-State Scholars

Students from iQ Academy Wisconsin, Waukesha North and Waukesha West high schools

Three high school students in the Waukesha School District were named All-State Scholars in May by the Department of Public Instruction.

The students are:

  • Melissa Dembski-Sullivan, of Madison, iQ Academy Wisconsin
  • Abhishek Soni, of Brookfield, Waukesha North High School
  • Anuraag Girdhar, Waukesha West High School

The program, which recognizes the students’ devotion to academic studies, began in 1986. Students previously were eligible for a one-year, $1,500 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship from the federal government. However, this year’s scholars will not receive scholarships due after the funding for the scholarships was eliminated, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
