The Top Ten Reasons to Give to United Way in Waukesha County this Holiday Season

Giving of both time and money to charitable causes usually increases during the holiday season. At times, all of the solicitations can seem very daunting and everyone who donates wants the time and money they give to have the ultimate impact. Funds raised by United Way are allocated to local programs which help make our community a better place to live and work. 2. United Way partners with 33 local agencies and funds nearly 70 programs to produce lasting change in the community.

5. Through the Helping Kids Succeed initiative, United Way addresses the issue of parental engagement in our community. United Way and its partners help parents/guardians actively engage with their children in school, the community, and in family related activities. Last year, 95% of families who participated in the United Way-funded initiative that works to increase parental involvement in a child’s life saw their child’s attendance, grades, and behavior improve.

6. Last year United Way helped a total of 71,812 people in Waukesha County. That’s roughly the population of the City of Waukesha! 

7. United Way addresses the issue of financial education in our community through the Financial Stability initiative. United Way and its partners help hardworking families struggling to meet basic needs increase their income, build savings, and gain assets. Last year, 94% of participants have received one-on-one coaching about budgeting and are using a budget to increase savings and build assets.
