St. Patrick's Day Casual Day for United Way

Waukesha County Executive, Dan Vrakas, has endorsed a St. Patrick's casual day for United Way in Waukesha County on March 15.

The St. Patrick’s Casual Day for United Way has become a tradition in Waukesha County. For yet another year, County Executive Dan Vrakas has endorsed March 15 as a casual day for United Way. “This is a great way to involve employees in a grass roots effort to help the community and celebrate a fun holiday at work,” said Vrakas. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day all Waukesha employees have the chance to wear jeans to work to benefit the community.

Employers in every city, village, and town throughout the county are asked to recognize this fundraising special event on Friday, March 15 by allowing their employees to dress casual on St. Patrick’s Day for a nominal per person participant fee with proceeds to United Way in Waukesha County.

To participate, go to the United Way website, UnitedWayWaukesha.org, to download a “Casual Day for United Way on St. Patty’s Day” promotional flyer and a file to print labels for casual day participants to wear declaring their participation on March 15.

Some other fun ideas to go along with the casual day are: a Lucky Charms breakfast, a green food potluck, or a Leprechaun Scavenger hunt complete with a pot of gold (chocolate coins) for the winner.

Call United Way at (262) 547-8459 by March 29 to request a pick up of the donations collected, or mail them to United Way at P.O. Box 1041, Waukesha, 53187-1041.
