Kendal Lofts Construction Impacts Main Street Traffic

The new Kendal Lofts project has caused some issues for drivers.

Construction of the Kendal Lofts project on the corner of West and Main in downtown Waukesha, which had stalled last January, now crosses into the street.

Drivers must attempt to maneuever the orange barrels that line the two-way Main Street as they turn onto West Street from Wisconsin Avenue.

The Main Street bars will see a bustle of activity for St. Patrick's Day, so the construction may become an issue if it's as busy as expected.

When the Waukesha Plan Commission approved the development of the 42-unit apartment building, it was met with concerns about the lack of parking availability in that area.

Although construction on the project had stalled, the opening is now scheduled for the summer of 2013.
