What Will Paul Ryan's Kids Be for Halloween?

Sam Ryan brings smiles to the GOP crowd with his goblin mask, while big sister Liza dishes about her Halloween costume and the rifle that her dad bought her for deer hunting.

While most of the family of GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is looking forward to the Nov. 6 election, at least one of his sons has a different date on his mind: Oct. 31.

All three young Ryan children joined Ryan’s wife, Janna, in Waukesha Saturday as they campaigned for the Janesville congressman.

Their youngest child, 7-year-old Sam, asked if he could bring his Halloween mask with him as he got off the bus at the Republican Party of Waukesha County's headquarters.

Sam’s going as “a spooky goblin,” said his mom, Janna Ryan.

“I think we will be seeing a lot of that in the next few weeks,” she joked.

Daughter Liza Ryan, 10, told Patch that she will be dressed up as pop star Katy Perry for Halloween. Patch was unable to ask 9-year-old Charlie about his Halloween costume.

The children are on fall break from school, so the family will be joining Paul Ryan on the campaign trail later this week.

“We are looking forward to that,” said Janna Ryan.

They’ve been missing their family time since Paul Ryan has been all over the country campaign on behalf of presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Ryan hopes to take his daughter hunting soon.

“He actually gave me a rifle for Christmas. I’ve tried it out in Oklahoma at the range,” said Liza. “He loves hunting. He has been talking about how he missed bow season. He is kind of sad about that. But he gets to hunt in Oklahoma.”
