What Do You Want to See at Minooka Park?

Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use, Park System Division, invites the public to attend a series of open houses regarding the Master Plan updates for Minooka, Mukwonago and Menomonee Parks.

These events offer an opportunity for all to share input into the uses of the undeveloped areas and updates to the current use areas of these three parks.  Each open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on the dates and at the park locations listed below.  The park entrance fee will be waived for these events; however it is a great time to purchase a 2012 annual sticker at a reduced rate.  Waukesha County resident stickers are $14, resident senior citizens stickers are $7, and non-resident stickers are $19; these stickers are good through 2012.

Minooka Park

• Date & Time:  Oct. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Location:  Minooka Park, 1927 E. Sunset Drive, Waukesha (in lower level of barn)

Mukwonago Park

• Date & Time:  Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Location:  Mukwonago Park, County Hwy LO, Mukwonago (in lower level of barn)

Menomonee Park

• Date & Time:  Nov. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Location:  Menomonee Park, W220N7884 Townline Road, Menomonee Falls (in Camp PowWow building) 

The Master Planning process helps to insure that the Waukesha County Park System meets the long term recreational needs of residents while preserving and enhancing the County’s exceptional natural resources.  The updated Master Plans will guide improvements and enhancements, by determining new uses and facility development for the immediate 10-year future of each park, which helps prioritize and budget for the projects that make up the County’s five-year Capital Improvement Plan.  The open house format helps the County gather input from all user groups.

The Waukesha County Park System is a natural resource based park system that demonstrates stewardship while providing recreational and educational opportunities.
