Weekend Rally in Waukesha Supports Gov. Walker

More than 100 people showed up to support Scott Walker, who is facing Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in Tuesday's special recall election.

More than 100 people lined up on a busy Waukesha intersection Saturday afternoon to support Gov. Scott Walker as he is heading into a special recall election Tuesday, according to area resident Keith Best.

Walker faces Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, who lost to Walker in the November 2010 election. Walker’s controversial legislation that limited public union’s collective bargaining abilities was the catalysis for the recall election.

A Waukesha Police Department squad came and asked who was in charge. After he was told no one was in charge, that this was a true grassroots effort, he asked that a group of kids leave an island area on Moreland Boulevard, which they did immediately. Otherwise there were no issues and only a smattering of people giving the group a thumbs down as they drove by.
