Waukesha Republican Loses Leadership Position After Harassment Allegations

State Rep. Bill Kramer is in treatment and is no longer the Majority Leader of the State Assembly.

A Republican assemblywoman from West Bend has taken over as the Majority Leader of the State Assembly after Rep. Bill Kramer, R-Waukesha, was removed from the position following allegations of sexual harassment.

Kramer checked into a treatment facility, according to a statement from his staff.

After Kramer was accused of inappropriate behavior, Republicans and Democrats alike were critical of the state representative.

“The alleged behavior is reprehensible and won’t be tolerated,” Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a Republican, said in a prepared statement. “I expect that members of the Wisconsin State Legislature should always hold themselves to the highest standards and that’s why this matter will be dealt with swiftly.”
