Waukesha Reads Takes Community Through George Orwell's '1984'
Waukesha West High School students produce videos to help promote Waukesha Reads initiative.
October is filled with Waukesha Reads events, most of which are free and all are open to the public. The events are based on themes from the Waukesha Reads 2012 book selection, 1984, by George Orwell. A complete Waukesha Reads Calendar of Events is available at the Waukesha Public Library’s Reference Desk, at participating downtown merchants or online at www.waukeshareads.org
For the 2012 service project, Waukesha Reads is collecting new and gently used children’s books for the Volunteers of Lake Country Free Children’s Library located at Hope Center, 502 N. East Avenue. Donations will be accepted at all Waukesha Reads events, most Waukesha Reads partner agencies and at Hope Center. For more details visit www.waukeshareads.org or call 262-524-3682.
Waukesha West High School students have produced video commercials to promote Waukesha Reads. The videos are available on YouTube.
