Waukesha County Board of Supervisors to Remain at 25 Members

Resolution passes Tuesday night despite pushes for referendum or downsizing the board

The Waukesha County Board of Supervisors will remain at 25 members despite

County Supervisor Duane Paulson, of Waukesha, said another supervisor, Peter Gundrum, of Muskego, had motioned to bring the board size down to 15 members, but that motion failed during Tuesday's meeting.

Another motion was made to put the issue to a referendum but that motion was not voted on, Paulson said.

“That was not agendized and that was ruled out of order,” said Paulson, noting that the majority of the county board supported County Chairman Jim Dwyer’s decision about sticking with the publicized agenda.

The county will now move forward with redistricting of the 25 supervisor seats, Paulson said.
