Waukesha Common Council Selects Paul Ybarra as President

Three people were up for consideration during Tuesday's meeting.

Common Council President Paul Ybarra was re-elected to the leadership role by a majority of the Common Council members on Tuesday.

Ybarra, who was first elected by the council to the position last year, was one of three people nominated for the position before the Common Council made its selection. Other candidates included Eric Payne and Joe Pieper.

Alderman Duane Paulson nominated Ybarra, Alderman Vance Skinner nominated Pieper and Alderwoman Kathleen Cummings nominated Payne.

Ybarra serves the District 5 portion of the city and was re-elected a year ago to serve the three-year term as an alderman.
