Waukesha Common Council Appoints Richard Hastings to District 12 Seat

Hastings replaces Alderman Charles Lichtie, who resigned Feb. 17 for health-related reasons.

Richard Hastings is the next alderman for District 12, the Waukesha Common Council decided Tuesday night following a closed-ballot vote.

Hastings is a development engineer at Harley-Davidson. He said in his cover letter to the Common Council he believes he can use his engineering experience to make factually based decisions about Waukesha’s future.

Hastings will replace Alderman Charles Lichtie, who resigned Feb. 17 from his position because of ongoing health problems.

"I just feel that as an alderman you should be able to give it 100 percent," said Lichtie on Feb. 17.
