Two Seek Appointment to Waukesha Common Council

District 6 seat has been vacant since Alderman Brian White passed away in May.

Two people are seeking an appointed spot on the after District 6 Alderman Brian White, 55, died suddenly from a heart condition, according to the Mayor’s Office.

Katherine Ebel and Adam Jankowski applied for the seats before the June 15 deadline. The Common Council will vote to appoint one of them to the vacant position during its meeting on July 5.

White was elected into office in April 2011 after running unopposed. The alderman who previously held the seat, Paul Furrer, did not seek re-election.

White’s biggest passion was helping the community, according to his brother.

“He knew what he believed in and what he liked, and he fought for what he believed in,” his brother, Alan White, “All communities go through changes and there were changes he didn’t believe in that passed or got through, but he did his part to keep the things he believed in in the community.”
