The committee working to make Waukesha a has identified 13 possible locations forthat are being painted by local artists and displayed in downtown Waukesha, according to a news release.
The plans are going before the following city boards and committees for approval:
- 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6; Public Art Committee
- 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8; Plan Commission
- 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9; Board of Public Works
The organizers of the project have proposed more than 10 locations for flexibility. You can see the
“We are moving forward through the approval processes with the city on the locations of the guitars and are excited about bringing the Waukesha GuitarTown Project closer to be a reality and honoring the legacy of Les Paul,” the release states. “It truly is special to be selected by Gibson for this project. The guitar placements will become a walking tour in downtown Waukesha, which will highlight Waukesha’s public art and reflected the great collection of art galleries and studios in our downtown.”
