Should Wisconsin Raise The Speed Limit to 70 MPH?
Illinois raised the speed limit to 70 mph last week.
A proposal to raise the speed limit on some Wisconsin interstates has been met with mixed reaction. Some people are in favor of the proposal, which would allow them to legally travel 70 mph on the freeway. However, others have commented that the proposal would lead to even higher speeds on the freeways.
State Rep. Paul Tittl, of Manitowoc, is bringing the proposal forward after other states have interstate speeds of 70 mph or above, according to Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News. Illinois increased the speed limit last week, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The proposal may fail in the State Senate, according to the Wausau Daily Herald.
