Sensenbrenner to Hold Listening Session This Afternoon in Waukesha

U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, will be holding a public listening session today starting at 1 p.m. at .

The long-time congressman is touting his visit as a “Town Hall” meeting.

Sensenbrenner introduced on Friday The Working Parents Tax Relief Act, “which would provide additional tax relief to working individuals who depend on child care or adult care to help take care of their loved ones,” his news release states.

Sensenbrenner is pushing to allow employees to save $7,500 – instead of the current $5,000 – from pre-tax wages to fund the child or adult care.

Sensenbrenenr’s proposal also would allow the money to rollover if it has not been used by the end of the year, according to the release

“Taking care of loved ones is a full-time job in itself and with costs continuing to increase for child and adult care, working families deserve the added assistance so that they can better balance the many demands in their life,” Sensenbrenner said in the release.  “The ‘use it or lose it’ rule as it currently stands hurts families who have worked hard for their money and just want to use it to care for their loved ones – they should be able to rollover any unused funds.”
