Two Republican state lawmakers from Waukesha County will face each other in a special primary election for the 33rd Senate District seat vacated by Rich Zipperer.
State Reps. Chris Kapenga and Paul Farrow will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot for the seat. They're both also on the ballot that day for their re-election bids to the state Assembly — Kapenga in the 99th District and Farrow in the 98th District.
It appears that no Democrats are on the primary ballot in the 33rd District, according to the Government Accountability Board’s website.
A Brookfield woman, Darcy Gustavsson, a Democrat who had declared candidacy on Wednesday, did not turn in nomination signatures by the 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline, according to the GAB’s website.
The regular election is Dec. 4.
Zipperer’s resignation was announced in July. He now serves the as deputy chief of staff and senior counsel for Walker.
