Report: Mayor's Paychecks no Longer Directly Deposited into New Day Fund

Questions surround mayor's promise to work for half pay.

Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima promised to work for half pay when he ran for mayor in 2010, but then created a charitable fund where he donates half his paycheck. But the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has found that Scrima no longer deposits his paycheck into the account via city processes.

The article in the Journal Sentinel shows the mayor is not releasing records about the funding in the New Day in Waukesha Foundation. The article includes a response from the mayor.

Scrima recently pledged to donate money from his New Day in Waukesha fund to help restore the former bus pavilion that houses the Waukesha Farmers’ Market.
