Rep. Kuglitsch Reacts to Budget Repair Bill Vote

"I stand firm in my support of the budget repair bill and I am proud of my colleagues to pass this important piece of legislation."

State Rep. Mike Kuglitsch, R-New Berlin, issued the following statement after the state Assembly approved Governor Walker’s budget repair bill. Kuglitsch represents portions of the city and town of Waukesha.

“The Wisconsin Assembly showed the sanctity of democracy last night as my colleagues and I passed Gov. (Scott) Walker's budget repair bill that will effectively put Wisconsin back on track towards economic stability. 

“We spent over 61 hours debating this bill on the Assembly floor,  17 hours in public hearings, and nearly two weeks of discussion across the state concerning this legislation prior to its passing (Thursday) night, and the citizens of Wisconsin have been heard.

“Employees in the public sector attribute a great wealth of knowledge and ingenuity to Wisconsin and this bill is absolutely not meant as a punishment to them, but we need to start taking steps in Wisconsin that will lead to a greater overall state.

“After listening to my constituents and speaking with members across the aisle, this was not an easy vote, but it was the right and necessary step to take for the present and future generations.
