Congresswoman is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Herb Kohl. She said she was inspired by the business owners in downtown Waukesha.

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, who is running as a Democrat in the U.S. Senate race for the seat being vacated by Sen. Herb Kohl, was touring downtown Waukesha with former Mayor Larry Nelson on Monday.

Baldwin faces whoever wins the Republican nomination in August – Former Gov. Tommy Thompson, businessman Eric Hovde, Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald and former Congressman Mark Neumann.

“It was inspiring to listen to small business owners who have been in downtown Waukesha for a long, long time, seeing all the changes and really have contributed to those very positive changes,” Baldwin told Patch. “Whether it is the role of art, , the riverwalk, all of these elements have been incredible. I was very inspired by what I heard.”
